Sustainability Practices

The Sisterhood documentary seeks to show that women’s relationships with each other matter: they make us more resilient, determined, and empowered. And when we honor the full depth and dimension of women’s diversity, we generate solutions that can save our world. In our hiring practices, we seek to employ woman-owned and BIPOC businesses, who also in turn center environmental sustainability.

 

The film industry can be very wasteful; Soulful Media aims to use products that are recycled and/or reusable. For example: we use all rechargeable batteries in our film equipment, and gaffer tape made from 100% recycled materials. This level of detail is even incorporated into purchasing decisions such as sourcing drinking water for our high-profile UN representatives and other interviewees in water bottles made from 100% recycled material. These products are recycled again after use. The Soulful Media production studio is 100% solar powered.
