Cultural Equity
Sisterhood showcases vital, important stories that uphold the human rights of all people, help heal gaps in cultural understanding, expand the scope of social justice, challenge stereotypes and explore the complexity of multiple perspectives, illuminate barriers to change experienced by marginalized women and girls, and encourage global citizenship. A global viewpoint is pivotal to understanding that decisions made on one part of the planet, or by one group of individuals or stakeholders, can affect multiple populations across the world. Looking at our actions through the lens of global citizenship allows us to see that we all share a common humanity; that our individual decisions may have far-reaching impacts, and that all people are of equal dignity, consideration, and worth.
Throughout this film, we seek to showcase diversity and inclusivity, and feature underrepresented voices and knowledge keepers. Our commitment to diversity, intersectionality, and cultural respect is reflected in our choices for advisors and partners, and key personnel. Filmed interviews with scholars, UN representatives, and other world leaders also reflect this vision.
