Global Story: The Campaign for the First Woman Secretary-General
Nearly eighty years after the founding of the United Nations, the organization has never appointed a woman as Secretary-General.
SISTERHOOD follows the growing global movement advocating for the election of the first woman Secretary-General. Through public advocacy, diplomatic engagement, and the voices of women and girls across generations, the film explores why representation at the highest levels of global leadership matters—and what it will take to transform one of the world's most influential institutions.
At its heart, this story reveals how collective action, persistence, and intergenerational sisterhood are shaping a historic campaign for a more inclusive future.

This is a film about courageous sisterhoods.
Only when women work together can we fiercely protect what we
love – empowering other women and girls in the process.

Why Sisterhood Matters
Women’s relationships with each other matter. Sisterhood makes us more resilient, determined, and empowered. And when we honor the full depth and dimension of all our sisters, in all their intersecting identities, we generate solutions that benefit everyone. Dramatic change happens when small acts accumulate and compound; a better world is forged by small, determined groups who refuse to give up.

Women Get Things Done
We show how women are working together to solve problems and achieve shared aims from a large, global scale to the granular, local level. Highlighting a variety of non-governmental organizations, advocacy groups, activists, and ordinary citizens across six continents.
